We sat down with Luke Field-Wright, the co-founder of Industry Warehouse, to discuss the exciting world of dance, his journey in the industry, and the unique offerings of Industry Warehouse Theatre & Dance Academy. Luke's passion for dance and dedication to nurturing young talent shine through as he shares his thoughts on what will make Industry Warehouse a truly exceptional learning environment.
Q: Could you tell us a bit about your background and how you got involved in the world of dance?
A: My journey into dance started early on, and I've been fortunate to land some incredible opportunities that have really shaped my career. I began with formal training in a variety of dance styles, which eventually opened the door to the world of commercial dance, TV, and film. Among the standout moments in my career, performing at the London Olympics, being a part of Take That's Progress Tour, and spending seven amazing years touring with Anton Du Beke as a ballroom dancer top the list.
I've also had the privilege of being involved in some fantastic TV shows and music videos. On top of that, I had the opportunity to work on blockbuster Hollywood movies, collaborating with some truly remarkable individuals. It's been quite the journey!
Q: What inspired you to co-found Industry Warehouse Theatre & Dance Academy?
A; Crystal and I co-founded Industry Warehouse with a shared vision to create a nurturing space for young, passionate dancers. We believe in providing an environment where creativity, talent, and enthusiasm thrive. Our goal is to offer aspiring young artists the chance to experience the world of dance and musical theatre in a truly professional setting.
Q: Can you elaborate on the unique approach of Industry Warehouse?
A; At Industry Warehouse, our approach is rooted in two key aspects: diversity and professionalism. We offer a diverse program that caters to dancers of all skill levels and aspirations. Whether someone is just starting their dance journey or has years of experience, our studio provides the perfect platform to learn, grow, and express themselves.
Furthermore, the professionalism we bring to our classes is exceptional. Crystal and I, being industry professionals ourselves, ensure that our students receive top-notch training from the best in the field. We bring insights directly from stage and film sets, allowing our students to learn not just the moves, but also the essence of being a performer.
Q: Could you tell us about the dance styles offered at Industry Warehouse?
A; Luke Field-Wright: Absolutely. We offer Street Dance and Commercial Dance classes, each with its own unique flair. Street Dance draws inspiration from urban environments and diverse cultures, incorporating elements of hip-hop, popping, locking, and breaking. It's all about self-expression and embracing the rhythm of the city.
On the other hand, Commercial Dance is all about high-energy choreography seen in music videos, commercials, and stage performances. It's about owning the dance floor with slick moves and captivating performances. Both styles have their own appeal and contribute to a holistic dance experience.
Q: What sets Industry Warehouse apart from other dance academies?
A; What truly sets us apart is the combination of our founders' industry experience and the genuine care we have for our students. Crystal and I are not just teachers; we are mentors who have been in the spotlight ourselves. We understand the challenges and joys of this journey, and we're dedicated to guiding our students every step of the way. Our commitment to professionalism, coupled with our passion for nurturing young talent, makes Industry Warehouse a unique and enriching dance academy.
Q: What message do you have for aspiring young dancers who are considering joining Industry Warehouse?
